Support the Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality
The Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality (IRWGS) relies on the generosity of alumni, friends and other donors to support our teaching, research and programming initiatives. Since its founding in 1987, the Institute has fostered dynamic undergraduate and graduate training, supported the publication of cutting-edge scholarship, and sponsored a wide range of thought-provoking events in women’s, gender and sexuality studies at Columbia University.
2012 marked the Institute’s 25th anniversary. An important milestone for all of us who played some part in IRWGS’s history, this anniversary gave us the opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the last twenty-five years and to begin to imagine the road ahead.
Looking forward, we are especially eager to support our students in the pursuit of women’s, gender and sexuality studies at Columbia and also to expand research and programming in these areas. We invite you to join our efforts. Your donation could help us us to support our students with research grants or other scholarships. A contribution of any amount could also help us to recognize our outstanding graduating seniors with annual essay prizes, such as the Women and Gender Studies Award and the Queer Studies Award.
If you would like to endow a lecture or scholarship, give a large gift, or contribute to the Institute in any other way, please contact IRWGS Associate Director Laura Ciolkowski, .
