The Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality (IRWGS) relies on the generosity of alumni, friends, and other donors to support our teaching, research, and new programming initiatives. Since its founding in 1987, the Institute has fostered dynamic undergraduate and graduate training, supported the publication of cutting-edge scholarship, fostered community among students and faculty, and sponsored a wide range of events in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies at Columbia University.
In 2017, the Institute celebrates its 30th anniversary. Looking forward, we are especially eager to support our students in the pursuit of women’s, gender and sexuality studies at Columbia and also to expand research and programming. We invite you to join our efforts. Your donation could help us to support our students with research grants, community initiatives, or other scholarships. A contribution of any amount could also help us to recognize our outstanding graduating seniors with annual essay prizes, such as the Women and Gender Studies Award and the Queer Studies Award.
If you would like to endow a lecture or scholarship, give a large gift, or contribute to the Institute in any other way, please contact IRWGS Associate Director Laura Ciolkowski.
