IRWGS Travel Scholarship for the Duke Feminist Theory Workshop
March 23-24, 2018 at Duke University
The Duke Feminist Theory Workshop brings together internationally recognized keynote speakers and emerging young scholars to engage in lively and focused debate. Keynote speakers for 2018 are Anne Allison, Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Duke University; Jennifer Nash, Associate Professor, African-American Studies & Gender and Sexuality Studies at Northwestern University; Silvia Federici, Professor Emerita of New College at Hofstra University; Denise Ferreira da Silva, Director & Associate Professor of the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice at the University of British Columbia; in addition to special guests who will serve on the closing roundtable.
IRWGS invites applications from qualified graduate students currently writing a dissertation on a topic related to the work of the Institute, for scholarship funds (covering travel and one night lodging) to attend the Workshop.
Interested graduate students should send a one-page letter, detailing how this year’s Feminist Theory Workshop will support their dissertation work, along with the contact info for two faculty references, to Laura Ciolkowski, Associate Director, firstname.lastname@example.org, subject line “Feminist Theory Workshop.”
Applications are due by or before Wednesday, November 1, 2017.
